El Campello is located just 13km north of Alicante. It’s one of the easiest day trips you can take.
- By TRAM (Highly Recommended): Take Line 3 (L3) from Luceros or Mercado stations. It’s a scenic 25-minute ride along the coast. Get off at the El Campello stop for the port and town center, or Salesians if you want to hit the beach immediately.
- By Car: It’s a 20-minute drive via the N-332 or the AP-7 highway. Parking can be tricky near the first line of the beach during summer, so look for spots a few blocks inland.
- Local Tip: If you missed the L3, the L1 (Red line) also stops here, but it's faster and has fewer stops.
El Campello is defined by its relationship with the Mediterranean. It offers a much more relaxed, spacious vibe compared to the busy city beaches.
- Playa Muchavista: This is the jewel of the town — a massive, wide sandy beach that stretches for kilometers. It’s perfect for those who love long walks by the shoreline or simply need more personal space than you’d find at Postiguet.
- The Promenade (Paseo Marítimo): A beautifully paved, long walkway that follows the coast. It’s lined with traditional restaurants and cafes, making it the heart of the town’s social life.
- Local Tip: Muchavista is famous for its "open sea" feel, but it can be a bit wavy. If you prefer calm, pool-like water, walk towards the fishing port area where the sea is sheltered.
Baños de la Reina (The Queen’s Baths): These are ancient Roman fish farms carved into the rock. It’s a unique spot for snorkeling and history buffs.
The Fish Auction: Visit the port (Lonja de Pescado) around 6:00 PM on weekdays to see the local catch being auctioned. It’s a real, non-touristy experience.
