About
This isn't a blog about how much I love Alicante. It's a record of what I've checked, and how.
I'm Petro Kohut, founder of Alicante Compass. A different language, different rules for buying and renting property, different ways of doing business, a different mindset altogether — that's just a fraction of what you run into when you move to another country.
I went through all of it myself, and most of it I had to figure out the hard way, through trial and error. My goal is simple: fewer mistakes than I made, and a faster path to wherever you're actually trying to get.
The Alicante property market deserves its own mention. It's split across dozens, maybe hundreds, of agencies large and small, each with its own listings and no shared search. If you're looking from abroad, checking five agencies means five different websites, five sets of outdated photos — and you still miss half of what's actually for sale. I'll help you make sense of it.
You'll also find articles, personal observations, and photos of places around Alicante here.
Where the data comes from
Every number on this site has a source I can name. If there's no source, there's no number — even when an empty space looks less impressive than a made-up figure.
What this site doesn't do
This site doesn't publish numbers without a source. If something can't be verified, it won't be here, even if that makes the page less impressive.
